Account & Data Deletion Policy

KRiders respects your fundamental right to control your personal data. Below are the transparent, step-by-step instructions on how to permanently delete your account and associated information, along with our retention policies.

How to Delete Your Account

You have two ways to request full account and data deletion: instantly from within the KRiders application, or via email request if you have already uninstalled the app.

Method A: In-App Self-Service Deletion (Immediate)

Open KRiders & Go to Settings
Open the KRiders app. Navigate to Settings (⚙️) from the top-right menu or from the MyPage tab.

Select "Withdraw from KRiders"
Scroll to the Account section at the bottom of the settings screen and tap "Withdraw from KRiders".

Verify with Email Code
To prevent unauthorized deletions, a 6-digit one-time verification code is automatically dispatched to your registered email address.
Security Authentication

Confirm Account Deletion
Enter the 6-digit code into the prompt and tap Confirm. Your account is immediately disconnected and all associated data is permanently erased.
✉️ Method B: Web & Email Deletion Request (Without Reinstalling)

If you have uninstalled the KRiders application or cannot access your mobile device, you can submit a deletion request directly to the developer. No app reinstallation is required.

Ownership Confirmation & Processing
We will verify ownership of the account and permanently delete all records across all production databases and media servers within 7 business days. A confirmation email will be sent upon completion.

Data That Is Permanently Deleted

When an account is deleted, the following categories of personal and usage data are irreversibly purged from our primary databases and storage:

👤 Profile & Identity Data
  • Registered email address
  • Unique internal User ID
  • Rider alias / Display name
  • Profile biography text
  • Profile photos (purged from AWS S3 media storage)
🔑 Authentication & Cryptographic Keys
  • Cryptographic public key (Ed25519)
  • Active JWT session tokens
  • Device push notification tokens (FCM / APNs)
  • Identity verification hashes
🏍️ Riding & Location Logs
  • All GPS driving coordinate trails
  • Elapsed ride duration, distance, and speed statistics
  • Tour destination check-in stamps & visit logs
  • Registered motorcycles (brand, model name)
💬 Community & Social Content
  • All feed posts and uploaded photos
  • Comments and replies
  • Group memberships and owner associations
  • 1-on-1 and group chat channel links

Irreversible Action: Once account deletion is confirmed, this data cannot be recovered. Any earned touring stamps, riding distance records, and profile history will be permanently lost.

Data That Remains & Retention Policy

KRiders operates strictly under data minimization principles. We do not retain personal identifying information once an account is deleted, except where strictly required by law or for cybersecurity defense.

GPS Routes & Riding Stats Permanently Deleted Immediate (0 days) Driving coordinates and statistics are purged upon deletion.
Server Network Access Logs Retained Temporarily Up to 90 days Transient server request logs (IP address, timestamp) retained strictly for DDoS mitigation, anti-fraud, and compliance with South Korean telecommunications regulations (Protection of Communications Secrets Act). Purged automatically after 90 days.
Anonymized Aggregate Stats Retained (Anonymized) Indefinite Fully anonymized, aggregated platform-wide counters (e.g. total tours recorded across the service) containing zero user linkage or identity.
